Welcome! I’m Karl McGinnis. I was raised in the evangelical church, but abandoned my faith shortly after leaving home. It took almost two decades for me to finally reach my breaking point.
I prayed for help, and His response left me no further room for denial. I began to attend church weekly and study theology–and I discovered something truly wonderful. The gospel looks quite different when it’s not being used to beat people over the head.
I have been working to apply the gospel in my life ever since that day in 2019. Sometimes it feels like learning. Other times, it feels more like unlearning. It has not been an easy road to walk, but God has been so good to me.
I am grateful for the grace He extends to me each day. I need it.
This website is the place where I share the things that have encouraged me, or are motivating me to lean into my relationship with God. Sometimes, these are the things that I have simply been studying and struggling to understand.
One of the joys of following God is knowing that the road goes ever on and on. There will never come a day where I have learned it all. There will never be a moment in which I am finished. So, please feel free to share your thoughts on my blog posts.
